Website should:
- give general information about the purpose and history of the society.
- give instructions on how to join (and the benefits of).
- give information on upcoming events / tutorials and recent news ( on home page blog style).
- give society/committee/admin contact details.
- include an archive of tutorial information. E.g. Slides, Podcasts?
- include useful technical documentation (wiki)
For ordinary members
The website should provide a portal, through which ordinary members should be able to
- access, edit and add to a repository of helpful technical documentation and other useful information. (wiki)
- Chat with each other (irc) (something more user friendly?)
- Discuss interesting topics (forum/mailing lists)
- manage their compsoc email
- upload photos of compsoc events
- be encouraged to suggest and develop group projects (programming etc…)
For committee members
Website should provide a way to
- easily manage website news articles and event advertising
- manage photos
- plan and organize events (including committee meetings)
- manage/assign various committee to-dos
- maintain a list of useful contacts
- maintain an equipment log
