===== Goals =====

It is planned to create a custom version of Ubuntu for Compsoc using the 'Reconstructor' package, [[http://reconstructor.aperantis.com/]]

The distro would include;

  * A custom theme centered around the Compsoc logo

  * Some custom packages to help with Compsoc activities

  * Automatically have proxy settings set up to route through the Compsoc server proxy.

  * The iso will be made available on the website for download.


If you have any Compsoc based artwork/animations you would like to submit, send them to <slibuntu@compsoc.nuigalway.ie> .

===== Progress =====
There is a major problem at the moment as Reconstructor seems to only have support as far as Gutsy, whereas we obviously want to use Hardy.
I'm currently looking at the LiveCD customisation page on the Ubuntu site as a possible alternative - https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCDCustomization
