Transferring Files

The easier way to transfer files into your account is via a program called WinSCP, a graphical SCP client which allows you to connect to frink and transfer files.

When you run WinSCP, a box similar to the one below should appear.

You need to enter the "Hostname" as "frink.nuigalway.ie", and then enter your Username and password in the appropiate boxes. Then click "Login".

A security popup may appear asking if you accept the server key, to continue to login to your files you need to click "Yes".

WinSCPs layout is quite simple:
The left hand window shows the files on the local machine you're using.
The right hand window shows the files in your account in frink.

To move through the directories double click them.
Clicking the .. directory makes you go back a level.
There is also a home button (House Icon) and a root button (/ Icon) on the top tool bar.
There is also a refresh button (Icon with Green arrows next to home) for each window to update its contents.
